It was at the Grand Stade de Tanger that the Mondialito, aka FIFA Club World Cup 2022, kicked off on February 1, 2023.
The organizers began this ceremony with images of Ibn Battouta, the explorer who traveled the world and who is originally from Tangier.
Then place was given to the different facets of the cultural diversity of Morocco starting with Taktouka Al Jabalia through Abidat R’ma, Dakka Marrakchia, Houara, Gbaoua and the different folklores of the different regions of Morocco.
Along the way, songs and images made us relive the feat of the Atlas Lions in Qatar. Moroccan rapper Dzdross took to the stage to deliver his famous “L’kora 7na Maliha” that means “We own football”.
Subsequently, Walid Regragui took the microphone on stage to communicate with the audience estimated at 50,000 people.
At the same time, a tribute was paid to the legend of world football, Pelé.
Finally, the presentation to the public of the six Clubs represented in this Mondialito : Real Madrid from Spain, Flamengo from Brazil, Al Ahly from Egypt, Al Hilal from KSA, Wydad Casablanca from Morocco, Seattle Sounders from the US and New Zealand’s Auckland City FC.
All these images, which demonstrated the richness and diversity of an ancestral country, took some twenty minutes.
