Closed in 2020 for the end of the rental contract which linked it to the tourist operator Risma, the Emirati ABS Holding, owner of the walls, had undertaken four years of complete renovation work on the Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay Resort. Today, the 5-star luxury hotel will officially reopen its doors on May 1, this time with a management contract concluded directly between the Emirati ABS Holding and the French group Accor.
En 2020, la cessation d’activité de l’hôtel Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay Resort, s’était traduite par une perte de lits et d’emplois pour la première station balnéaire du Royaume. En effet, l’opérateur touristique Risma avait décidé de ne pas renouveler le contrat de location de l’établissement, qui arrivait à échéance le 30 juin 2020 et qui le liait depuis 2004 à la société émiratie ABS Holding, propriétaire de l’hôtel. Risma qui louait à l’époque et confiait l’hôtel en gérance au groupe Accor, avait justifié le non renouvellement du contrat par la vétusté de l’établissement qui nécessitait une rénovation profonde pour répondre aux standards de luxe 5 étoiles.
